Counterparty reconciliation statement (akt sverki)

A reconciliation statement (akt sverki) is a document in which two companies confirm the balance between them at a date: each side lists the documents and payments from its own books and checks that the closing debt agrees. In practice it is prepared at quarter or year end, when a contract is closed and when there is a dispute about a debt.

What it contains

  • The parties, tax IDs, the contract and the period.
  • The opening balance.
  • Every document (VAT invoice, act) and every payment — date, number, amount.
  • The closing balance: who owes whom and how much.
  • Both parties’ signatures.

Where differences usually come from

  • A payment recorded by one side and not the other (statement not uploaded).
  • A document one side has and the other has not accepted (not signed in Didox).
  • A payment applied to a different invoice or contract.
  • A part payment closed as a full one — part payments.
  • A duplicate: the same document entered twice.

How Centa helps

Centa links every payment to its document, keeps part payments open and drops duplicates — so the balance with each counterparty comes straight from the documents and statements. You can ask Centa Intelligence “how much does Alfa Servis owe?”. Centa does not produce the signable statement form; its data is the basis for preparing it. More on AI accounting software.

Frequently asked questions

Is a reconciliation statement mandatory?

It is standard business practice: it confirms the debt and serves as evidence in disputes. Many contracts require one periodically.

How often should it be prepared?

Usually at quarter or year end, when a contract closes and whenever a debt is questioned.

What if the balances differ?

Compare documents and payments line by line starting from the opening balance; most often the difference is an unuploaded statement or an unaccepted document.
