E-IMZO and electronic signatures
E-IMZO is the name used in Uzbekistan for the electronic digital signature system: an organisation’s or director’s key and the software that signs documents with it. E-IMZO keys sign electronic VAT invoices and acts at document exchange operators, tax returns and contracts.

Where it is used in accounting
- Signing electronic VAT invoices, acts and contracts at document exchange operators.
- Signing in to and filing through electronic government services.
- Proving a document has not changed since it was signed.
How a signature works
A signature is computed over the document’s fingerprint (hash). If even one character changes after signing, the fingerprint differs and the signature no longer verifies. That is why any edit to a signed contract needs a new signature.
